Huddle built an enterprise collaboration and document management platform specifically designed for regulated industries including UK government agencies, who valued its ISO 27001 compliance and data sovereignty features. The company raised £36M from Matrix Partners and Jafco and was a genuine SharePoint alternative for mid-market enterprises. When Microsoft bundled Teams with Office 365 at no additional cost in 2017, standalone collaboration tools lost their pricing power across the market.
